Job Description
A Strength and Conditioning Coach provides expertise, guidance, and training in the area of strength training and physical conditioning for athletes.
A day in a life of a Strength & Conditioning Coach
10am to 12pm – Delivery of integrated training on judo mat and utilising specialist equipment
1pm to 3pm – Planning
3pm to 5pm – Delivery of integrated training on judo mat and utilising specialist equipment
5pm to 7pm – Planning and Review of work
8pm to 10pm – Observing judo players in free practice

| 2. | Creating new programs and specialist techniques which help improve athlete’s performance |
| 3. | Being part of a high performance team and facing new challenges everyday is very rewarding |
| 3 not so great things about being a Strength & Conditioning Coach | |
| 1. | You do work a lot hours each week |
| 2. | No easy sessions as you have to be 100% focused in every session |
| 3. | Difficult to take holidays at certain times |
| A Master degree in physiology and/or strength and conditioning. A professional coaching certification in one or two sports (level 3) – this is important to understand the philosophy of coaching, how to develop and progress athletes in different dimensions, the technical elements for the sport and how everything needs to be integrated when you are training athletes as a strength and conditioning coach. | |

| 1. | Work as a coach in one or two sports, especially with kids |
