Careers in Sport and Leisure Workshop

An insight into the careers available in sports coaching, sports science, sports media and sports management. What is on offer, what experience and qualifications are required and how can I develop a successful career in this area?

COURSE LEADER: Harvey Grout

Harvey Grout is the founder of www.careers-in-sport.co.uk and is the PGCE PE tutor at The University of Southampton. He has an MSc in Sports Psychology and is also the editor for Sport IQ Magazine, the unique learning resource for GCSE, BTEC and A Level PE.

Having worked in sports management, sports media and sports coaching/teaching Harvey is able to offer first hand advice and guidance on a variety of professions within the sport and leisure industry. Harvey also interviews prospective students aiming to enrol on a Higher Education degree and offers helpful advice and guidance for students applying for university.

COURSE AIMS

The course is designed to assist careers advisors, teachers and students who are either responsible for careers advice or are looking to develop a career in sport themselves. The course will provide information on the diverse options available to students and advice on the experience and qualifications required.

The course will include presentations, practical activities and tasks and a Question and Answer session.
